A Fall Saturday in Lakeview Heights

There's a certain kind of Saturday that only happens on the Westside in the fall. The mornings are crisp, the vineyards turn gold, and Okanagan Lake goes so calm it looks like glass. If you've ever wondered what it's really like to live in Lakeview Heights, this is exactly how we'd show you.

Where is Lakeview Heights?

Lakeview Heights sits on the hillside in West Kelowna, tucked between Mount Boucherie and Okanagan Lake, with Boucherie Road and the Westside Wine Trail running along its edge. Downtown Kelowna is only about a 10-minute drive across the bridge, which is a big part of the appeal. You get a quieter, greener neighbourhood with lake views and vineyards all around you, and the city is right there whenever you want it.

Morning: coffee on the beach at Frind

Every good Lakeview Saturday starts with coffee, and ours starts at Frind Beach Café at Frind Estate Winery, just down Boucherie Road. The café sits right on the beach, so you can take your coffee down to the sand and watch the morning light come up over the lake. It's honestly hard to believe this is just a regular weekend spot for so many locals.

Afternoon: stay for a glass

Here's our little secret: we never leave Frind after just a coffee. Fall is harvest season on the Westside, and there's nothing quite like a glass of wine on a lakeside beach with the vineyards behind you. If you feel like exploring, more wineries sit just minutes away along Boucherie Road, so it's easy to make a whole afternoon of it.

Evening: pizza and a pint at Lakesider

Before heading home, we love stopping at Lakesider Brewing on Anders Road, right in the heart of Lakeview Heights. It's relaxed and so much fun, the pizzas are great, it's family friendly, and pets are welcome on the patio, so the whole crew can come along. It's places like this that make Lakeview Heights feel like a community, not just a postal code.

The homes

Lakeview Heights has a lovely mix of homes, from established houses on generous hillside lots, many with sweeping lake views, to newer builds, townhomes and condos. It's a neighbourhood where families settle in for years, and where people moving up from a first home often land once they're ready for more space and a view.

Most of Lakeview Heights is regular freehold land within the City of West Kelowna. Just to the north, closer to the bridge, some homes sit on Westbank First Nation land, which works a little differently. If you're looking in that direction, our WFN Leasehold Guide walks you through what to know.

Day-to-day life

Everyday errands are easy, with groceries, a pharmacy, a Montessori and local shops at Lakeview Village, and the community hall and courts right across the street.

Is Lakeview Heights right for you?

If coffee on the beach, a glass of wine in the afternoon and lake views from the kitchen window sound like your kind of weekend, Lakeview Heights is well worth a closer look. It suits families wanting room to grow, and anyone who wants a little breathing room without giving up easy access to Kelowna. We think it's one of the most special corners of the Westside, and we never get tired of showing it off. You can see what our clients have to say on our testimonials page, and if you're just starting out, our buying page explains how we help.

If Lakeview Heights is starting to feel like home, we'd love to show you around. Get in touch anytime.
